There is a nice nature walk just outside the center of Stony Creek that takes you across and old rail bridge and through salt marsh fields. It was very natural and open until I came to an old foundation that was the canvas for all the local aspiring graffiti artists. This ancient doorway led out of the south transept of the Winchester cathedral to a stairway that takes you to the library and triforium gallery. While staying in Taos New Mexico I heard about the “Old Mission Church”. It was only mile or so from our hotel so we went by in the afternoon and I took several photos but all along I was wondering how it might look at night. There were several spotlights around the grounds that gave me the indication that it might be a better photo in the evening. That night we came back and it was transformed by the lighting with the structure jumping out against the moonless sky. The sodium vapor street light initially gave me concern but their tight spectrum of yellow green light just added another dimension to this fortress like structure. While out in Santa Fe New Mexico, I wanted to capture a night photo of what is reportedly the oldest church in the United States, the San Miguel Mission Chapel. The photos were OK but not spectacular. I was distracted as I was wondering how we were going to find the restaurant we had reservations for that night. A place that came highly recommended called The Pink Adobe. After finishing the mission shoot, I turned around and was greeted by this scene. I got to the floating market outside of Bangkok in the traditional way by long tail boat and was dropped off at one of the commercial piers. All during the day I took many photographs from the shoreline and from the vantage points provided by the walkways across the water. I kept avoiding a guide trying to talk me into taking his boat along the waterways. I finally gave in a paid him for the paddling among the sellers of goods. I wish I had listed to him the first moment he asked because I got the best photographs travelling at the same level as all the merchants.

Sunflowers seem to grow wild in the New Mexico sun. In late August they are in full bloom everywhere you look. At the very back of the Salisbury Cathedral lays the tomb of St Osmund in the Trinity Chapel. St. Osmund was the bishop of Salisbury and died in 1099. His tomb was moved to the Cathedral after dedication in 1258. This chapel was lit by only two candles and a glow from the cobalt blue 'Prisoners of Conscience” stained glass window.
