In mid-October I attended an exhibition at the Carriage Barn Arts Center in New Canaan. The leaves in Waveny Park were a mixture of colors from those trees that had turned as well as others still waiting to show their colors. I decided to walk out behind the arts center and explore the grounds. It was a little after 6PM and the sun was heading down for the day. I came across a small pond that was lined with trees of many types. This was a very still and dark water usually produced by many seasons of leaves composting in the bottom. It provided a perfect mirror for the reflection of the sun off the tops of the trees across the pond and when cropped closely all looks upside down. The yet to turn green leaves of the branch provided a nice backdrop for the colors on the far shore.
