Touring through Banff National Park near the end of the fall season can bring many surprises. As we drove up through higher elevations we were greeted by a strong early season storm. We had stopped at the lake shore earlier for lunch and a few photos and thought the view from above would be even better and we were not disappointed. The glacial lake was almost iridescent as its azure hue provided a startling contrast to the new snowfall and the portions of the evergreens that were yet to be covered.
