Touring through Banff National Park near the end of the fall season can bring many surprises. As we drove up through higher elevations we were greeted by a strong early season storm. This photo was taken just after noon with the sun nearly blotted out by the snow. The glacial lake was not frozen this early in the season so its azure hue caused by the minerals in the glacier run off can still be seen.
