Antelope canyon is located on the Navajo Nation just outside Page Arizona and right near to Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon Dam. There are actually two Antelope Canyons, upper and lower. I prefer upper, although it is shorter it provides more striking images and has higher vaulted ceilings. The Antelope Canyons are a slot canyon and if you time it right you will see the sun shining thru the seam at the top of the canyon down to the canyon floor. This light lasts for only an hour or two per day. As it is quite dark in the canyon a tripod is needed and exposures are quite long. The long exposure provided the opportunity to “create” flames by throwing dust from the floor into the shaft of light and while the lens in open the dust filters thought the light giving unique images
