Looking-Back
This photo was taken on a back road on Cape Cod; it was a grey drizzly day near the end of February, about 3:30 in the afternoon and approaching sunset. As we passed by the mirror I noticed potential in a less than perfect image. After taking the exposure I worked on the image with Photoshop and after a good number of hours and over seven layers produced the image I titled Looking Back. I first made a selection of the mirror and applied a warming photo filter. I then increased the saturation and contrast of the mirror, which gives it the warm glow around the setting sun. The image looked too detailed so I applied a lens blur filter which softened the image. Now I felt it was too soft with no point of focus to the observer. So, I finally erased the blur over the road and house to provide something to draw you into the experience.
